The Ritz Carlton Aruba is considered one of the premier luxury destinations on the island. Located on the northern most end of the hotel strip, the 320 room hotel provides full service amenities and includes a westward orientation that ensures memorable sunsets over private balconies.
01/ Hospitality Service
The service was very attentive and hospitable from check-in to check-out. The staff went above and beyond to prioritize and facilitate guest’s needs such as; navigation around the island, prompt service, scheduling activities, and minor errands. One special treat our team recognized were the fast-operating elevators. Relative to the substantial size of the hotel, the elevators responded very promptly. The interactions with and between bellhops, beach attendants and managers were all pleasant and in keeping with the sterling Ritz Carlton reputation.
The exterior façade is painted yellow with navy blue and white accents. The color contrasts nicely with the blue Aruban sky and wavy palm trees. The lobby entrance is grand with a custom made chandelier of natural wood complemented by the floor to ceiling windows of the back entrance. The landscaping on the hotel’s rear sides face the beach with private beach access, including first-come first-serve umbrella chairs, towel service, and beachside food and beverage service. There are two swimming pools designed for family and adult-friendly spaces. The adult section has cabanas that are available to rent for the day with food and beverage service as available as well. Outdoor showers are also available to rinse the saltwater and sand from the beach.
The main lobby allows for plenty of natural light to enhance the earth-tone-themed interiors and illuminating the lobby space, showcasing the high ceilings. The hallway walls are a vibrant yellow, and the carpet is a light green color with a blue ribbon wave pattern resembling the ocean. The ambiance is further highlighted by the evening resident singer that serenades you at Casa Nonna Italian restaurant downstairs to set an optimal dining mood. At night, the hotel grounds showcase the pools and palm trees under the multicolored lighting.
The resort offers room service, a 15,000 square foot casino, a 7,500 square foot private event space, beach access, two swimming pools, and a fitness center. The sushi bar is located across the main cocktail bar, ready to service hungry guests. Then two main restaurants on the hotel grounds are BLT steakhouse and Casa Nonna Italian restaurant. In the morning, the hotel serves the morning breaskfast buffet or a la-carte style.
The Ritz Carlton Aruba’s policy is adamant about cleanliness, especially during these times with the coronavirus. The hotel rooms were also well-kept and maintained in an orderly fashion. The aroma of disinfectants is noticeable in the elevators and common areas to add extra peace of mind amidst the current pandemic. The lobby and casino are all enforced by social distancing by providing authentic custom-made glass engraved with the Ritz Carlton signature logo.
Considering the changing WHO-led international policies regarding COVID-19, the property has achieved operational efficiency in facility management, regulatory compliance, inventory, consumables, staffing, marketing, branding, and cultivation of repeat business.
07/ Quality Assurance
Based on our observations, the hotel strictly enforced Aruba’s coronavirus guidelines. Custom made glass serves as a barrier between hotel guests and staff in the lobby entrance. One of the most striking details was the social distancing tiles displayed throughout the entire hotel floor. Usually, establishments would place stickers or temporary solutions; however, the Ritz Carlton Aruba goes above and beyond by replacing their floor tiles embedded with 6 feet distancing guidelines. All indoor and outdoor staff members wore face masks providing reassurance of adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.
The coronavirus precautionary measures set forth by the Aruban government were implemented into the Ritz Carlton Aruba's policy, providing the necessary reassurance for hotel guests.
Management was very diligent in catering to guest needs. In our observations, communicated needs and requests were politely facilitated and promptly addressed, making the Ritz Carlton Aruba worthy of recognition by our board of Trustees at the Ten Tier Diamond Award.
